For a Better World
Money makes the world go round -- and it's often said that every dollar we spend is like a vote for how we want our world to be. It is our intention therefore to use our money wisely: to shop for things that are produced ethically and sustainability; to weigh and balance the true costs of those Saturday "bargains;" and to support locally grown, locally produced, or locally crafted goods and services for the betterment of our community and the people who live here.

SDS Takes on Gettysburg's Endowment Fund
Have you ever wondered where your tuition money really goes? What kind of investments the college makes? How the endowment is really used?
Building upon the campaign started by the First Year students in the "Voice of the Rebel" seminar, Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) has taken up the cause of demanding that the college release a transparent report of its endowment, annual fund, and investment porfolio. The requests of SDS have not yet been answered by the administration, and so they have called upon students and faculty to take a stand on this important issue and let the administration know that we care about what our money is used for. Furthermore, we would like to see the college commit to the concept of Socially Responsible Investing (SRI) by supporting companies that embody socially just and environmentally sound business practices. If you want to learn more or join the fight, contact Jake at pattwi03.
